I think like a strategist and lead like a craftsman — because everything we bring into the world deserves passion, soul, and a human touch.

Hi, I’m Marcus.

I'm a certified Project Management Professional with seven-plus years leading complex technical work for Fortune 100 companies. But the certification isn't the point. Anyone can learn a framework. What I actually do is build the conditions where a team's best thinking survives contact with corporate reality — where engineers can stay heads-down on hard problems, stakeholders can decide with confidence, and nothing depends on someone working themselves into the ground to save it.

The tech stack changes for whatever the mission calls for. The job doesn't. A perfect technical solution means nothing if the team behind it doesn't have the conviction to see it through. So that's where I actually spend my time: not perfecting the plan, but building a team passionate enough to turn any idea into a great one.

I'm currently sharpening that instinct further at UCLA Anderson, because the bigger the room, the more it matters to get the people in it right.

If you give a good idea to a mediocre team, they will screw it up. If you give a mediocre idea to a great team, they will either fix it or throw it away and come up with something better.”

My Philosophy

No idea is too big or too small to bring to life if it’s something you truly believe in. The things that bring us joy, meaning, or inspiration don't arrive on their own — they exist because someone had the passion and tenacity to bring it into the world and keep it alive. Left to its own devices, the universe turns dreams into rust and dust.

So let’s build something worth the effort.

Craftsmanship has a pulse

A machine can execute a process. Only a human can determine whether the outcome was worth making.

The work will ask more of you than it gives back

That's not a flaw in the process. That's how you know it was worth doing.

Passion creates great work

Take the passion out, and what's left is just a task someone happened to finish.

Great work can only be crafted

Nothing made carelessly survives contact with the world. What lasts was built by someone who refused to let it die.

My Passions and Interests

  • Golf

If soccer is “the beautiful game” then golf is “the perfect game.” You can learrn about yourself and others in a single round of golf.

  • Boxing

When you’re in the ring with no one else but someone who wants to take your head off, you find grit.

  • Street Photography

Everything in life is beautiful. But I think street photography challenges us to capture it before its gone.

  • Language Learning

I’m no polyglot. But learning a language before travelling is a quiet perspective shifter.

  • Ballroom Dancing

Waltz, Foxtrot, Tango, Swing, Salsa… you name it, I love it. A great way to build chemistry with strangers.
